He's done the Mafia. He's done biography. He's done music. Is it time for Scorsese to combine the three?

Er. Allegedly. After greats such as Goodfellas, Howard Hughes biopic The Aviator and the thrilling Rolling Stone rockumentary Shine A Light, the Oscar-winning director is rumoured to be turning his attention to the life story of Frank Sinatra.

Ol' Blue Eyes' youngest daughter Tina was talking to the Winnipeg Sun – that famous oracle of all things Hollywood – when she let slip the news.

'Marty has always wanted to do this,' she reportedly said.

But, frankly, don't hold your breath. While it seems like an obvious pairing of talent and subject, Scorsese's currently busy with the oh-my-god-we-want-to-see-it-now thriller Shutter Island and, according to IMDb.com, has three more movies lined up when that one finishes.

As to how accurate / warts and all the Sinatra estate will allow the alleged film to be... well that's debatable.

We suspect those alleged Mafia links won't get a look in.

'I don’t want him to be driving the getaway car,' said Tina, apparently borrowing a phrase of her late dad's, in what we assume is a reference to the possible portrayal of criminal connections,

'That would not be fair,' she added.

Maybe not. But is it accurate?
