The big-eared Love Actually star is rumoured to be the face of Herge's Belgian detective in the new Tin Tin movies which Peter Jackson and Steven Spielberg are going to shoot later this year.

The Daily Mail broke the story, so hey it must be true... But he certainly looks the part.

The only definite casting we're aware of is the perfect choice of Andy Serkis for Captain Haddock.

Of course, given Andy's background as the CGI-creations of Gollum and King Kong, he might also have been a good choice for Snowy the dog...

In other film related news, Total Film reports that the craze for comic book adaptations isn't slowing. Indeed, some actors are so happy to play comic book characters that they're now writing their own comic books.

The actor in question is Hugh Jackman, who not content with being Wolverine in the X Men movies and his own forthcoming spin off feature, is now working on Nowhere Man with TV writer Marc Guggenheim.

Plot details are hard to come by but it's rumoured to be set in 'a future where humanity has given up all its privacy in the name of security' and video games and movies are part of the long-term plan.

Funny that.
