Terminator Salvation

Christian Bale is a busy boy at the moment with The Dark Knight opening to rave reviews and his well documented 'family' issues, he's certainly in the spotlight.

Now his action hero stock is set to rise further as he takes the lead in the new Terminator flick, Terminator Salvation, set to be next summer's box office smash.

There's no Arnie involved, probably a good thing after the naff T-3. Bale will play John Connor the leader of the resistance against the machines.

The story is set in a post apocalyptic future and will flesh out the future wars tantalising glimpsed at in the first two James Cameron directed films.

So far so good, there has to be a fly in the ointment and many fanboys have mixed reactions to the studio choice of director - McG, of Charlie's Angels infamy.

But after this kinetic trailer and his candid revelations on the www.terminatorsalvation.com official site blog, the hardcore are slowly being won over.

It seems on screen Bale can do no wrong and the silly-named McG seems passionate and knowledgeable enough about the Terminator mythology, this could be ace.
