Mick Jagger wants Mary J Blige. No, not for that reason – though god knows he's done enough of that over the years. He wants Mary's vocal skills.
Speaking to Maxim magazine, the wrinkly rocker announced that the first lady of RnB is on his wishlist.
'I love Mary J. Blige,' he admitted. 'I know she's done duets with U2 and everyone else, and I love her vocal style. She's on my musical wish list.'
Jagger's been busy on the collaborative front over the last year, having duetted with Amy Winehouse at last year's Isle of Wight festival and Christina Aguilera for the forthcoming documentary Shine A Light.
Aguilera pops up as blessed relief from the craggy ones to perform Live With Me in Scorsese's excellent concert movie. Jagger decided he was also a fan.
'Christina Aguilera is such a great singer, ' he admitted, 'so I loved that. She was really on it. She delivers.'
Shine A Light the album is out on 7 April. Shine A Light the movie is released on 11 April 2008 – including an IMAX version should you want to see Jagger's wrinkles achieve Grand Canyon-esque size.
Or, indeed, Aguilera's chest blown-up to the size of a bus...
