Take one goes like this: Welsh Wales – you are a talentless bunch of no-hopers.

Take two is the flip-side: Welsh Wales – you are above reality shows and no longer seek the favour of over-blown TV talent scouts.

Whichever way you cut it, Simon Cowell and X-Factor judge Louis Walsh have sent sparks flying in the Valleys after they branded the Welsh talentless. And these boys know a lot about being talentless, believe us.

After conducting auditions in the Principality, the pop nerks, led by cough-and-they-drop Simon Cowell said: ‘Talent was in the minority in Wales. There were about two good girls but we saw a lot of people who were really bad.’ Perhaps the auditions were conducted in Holyhead as the last sentence describes a walk around that town.

Meanwhile Louis Walsh the wan... - well, it rythms with anchor - said the saddos who did turn up were borderline mental: ‘There's no way the winner will come from Wales. There have been a lot of lunatics.

‘I was looking for Tom Jones - I got Bonnie Tyler. I'm glad we're leaving.’

And the Welsh are too.
