Aloud and proud

Sticking in there. Which is our wish too
girls aloud brits

Girls Aloud are not splitting up. Despite all the rumours currently circulating – which get revived every time Nadine's spotted in the US, Cheryl seems to be developing a TV career or Sarah's at a launch party – the band are definitely still a band.

And the last tour won't be their last tour, and the recent Greatest Hits package – so often a signal that it's all over – was just a greatest hits package. Because they have a new single and album and everything.

One of Britain's most successful pop acts, Girls Aloud will release their new single in October, swiftly followed by their fifth album in November.

Hmm, anyone would think they were cashing in on the Christmas market or something.

What's the first single? They don't know.

Apparently the new album is an embarrassment of riches and the girls can't decide which track should be released first.

'The girls are really excited about this one,' a source told the Sun.

'They think it’s their best album yet. 'The last was their most successful so far and that has given them the drive to keep going.

'They have spent more time recording this one than they have in the past because they want to get it right.'

What, so they've previously rushed it and got it wrong?
