Alicia: Pleased with half a bond theme

It was going to be Winehouse. It was going to be Beyonce.

In fact, it was going to be pretty much everyone who's ever made a record.

But the artist who actually gets to do the new Bond theme? It's Jack White. Of The White Stripes.

Oh, and Alicia Keys.

Yes indeed, the theme song to Quantum of Solace will be a duet. The first duet, in fact, in Bond history.

And, with Keys and White, a rather unlikely duet at that.

The song, Another Way To Die – well, it's easier to rhyme than Quantum of Solace – has already been recorded and the powers-that-be are happy.

'We are delighted and pleased to have two such exciting artists as Jack and Alicia, who were inspired by our film to join together their extraordinary talents in creating a unique sound for Quantum of Solace,' is the official (slightly gushy) reaction.

The rest of us will have to wait a while to pass judgement as the single won't be released until October 28.
