Mark Ronson - uber this and uber that, DJ/Producer and... that... - has revealed the new Kaiser Chiefs album sounds a bit like the 80s iconic Yank rockers, Talking Heads.
And he should know because he’s producing the forthcoming album and we can only assume he’s heard a Talking Heads album or two.
For those under the age of 30, the band enjoyed great success especially with the indie muso lot and their biggest was Once in a Lifetime.
To throw even more retro revelry into the mix, Rono reckons the Chiefs’ new album also sounds like hair-bear 70s Brum orchestral pop merchants, ELO. Mr Blue Sky’s all round, then.
Worryingly, Ronson reckons the mix might sound a bit ‘bizarre’.
‘It's a bizarre, eccentric record for such a huge rock band to make’ before hastily adding, ‘in a good way.’
He told the BBC the album has, ‘Elements of Talking Heads, Tom Tom Club, The Go-Gos, The Move and ELO.’
Hopefully there will also be a touch of the Kaiser Chiefs in there too.
