Lily blasts EMI

Lily Allen has been a bit quiet recently but let's prepare for a soundbite onslaught as her album release nears.

And it's not coming quick enough for Lilster as she laid into her record company for being slow about getting her music out to the expectant public. Both of them.

Writing about her troubled record company EMI on her MySpace pages, she ranted: ‘Now, the album. It has been finished for a while now. I don't really know what's going on with it.

'The record industry is a very political place at the moment and I am on EMI Records.

'Lots of people have been fired or have taken redundancy recently as the company was taken over by a private equity firm called Terra Firma.

'Many of these people were people assigned to my project. I might go on another holiday as I don't have anything else to do.'

The poor wee lamb. Of you go, then.

But according to the Mirror, the real reason is the time out Allen took after miscarriage.

And an EMI person said: 'We're excited by what we've heard and we're all now discussing the best date for the release.'

And as usual, there's a Lily Allen rent-a-gob reality and another reality.
