If anyone sidles up to you in a pub this weekend and offers you a gravestone, call Macclesfield police.
They're currently investigating the theft of the stone from the grave of former Joy Division singer, Ian Curtis.
And nobody seems to have much idea.
'I just don't understand why anyone would do it,' said Stephen Morris, drummer with Joy Division and New Order, to NME.com. 'You couldn't sell it on eBay - it's ridiculous and very upsetting.
'There's been the films [last year's Control, the recent Joy Division documentary) so maybe someone thought they could cash in?' He speculated. 'Or maybe it's someone who is a bit deranged - you'd have to be.'
Morris, his bandmates and Curtis' own family were upset over the incident. .
'I'm speechless,' added Morris. 'It really is not a very nice thing at all.'
If you nicked the stone and are reading this, put it back or leave it somewhere undamaged. As Morris sugests: 'have a bit of dignity about it.'
