Q gotta be joking

Coldplay: Salad munching bores?
coldplay

Posh public school boys are still dominating the increasingly sanitised world of rock after veggie eco recyclers Coldplay won best album and best act in the world today at the Q Awards.

And showing the insipid nature of Q readers, Duffy bagged the best breakthrough award while putty-faced doughboys Keane won the award for best comeback song.

At least style and an edge was found when iconic force of nature Grace Jones was given the Q idol award.

Chris martin had an Oasis moment when he declared Coldplay as ‘the greatest band in the world’.

That’s before his meek non-confrontational side shone through by adding: ‘Well, not quite the biggest band. U2 are on holiday. Radiohead are on holiday.’

And when receiving the award for best act in the world today he blurted: ‘I don't think we're the best act in the room, let alone the world.’

Probably right, too.

In a case of the bizarre, legendary bloated big mouth Meat Loaf got a gong in the classic song award for his 80s hit, Bat Out Of Hell.

He sported a cut eye and looked decidedly iffy, commenting to reporters he was suffering from vertigo.

Well, when your career has plummeted to new levels of obscurity, perhaps you are afraid of the dizzy heights.
