The first new single from the Verve in donkey’s years was big news in the MegaStar office.
Love is Noise has been on the wireless for a couple of weeks and it now has a cryptic vid to accompany its August 4th release.
Click on the above player to see the chaps in action interspersed with lots of arty shots of mountains, ladies messing around with birds of prey and some sort of Asian pre-sporting event ceremony.
Read into it what you will, but the fact that Richard Ashcroft doesn’t appear in the same shot with any of his band mates will probably have more chins wagging.
Let’s hope the love/hate relationship between Ashcroft and guitarist Nick McCabe will last longer than the previous reunion which heralded the Urban Hyms album but fell apart with the band more popular than ever.
Our fave Verve album is still the bleakly brilliant A Northern Soul but the spunkiness of Love is Noise bodes well for the new album, Forth.
