Morgan Freeman is in a serious condition in hospital, following a car accident.
The 71-year old star was driving a female passenger when his car veered off the road, flipped several times and landed in a ditch.
Police have ruled out drink driving but are still said to be investigating the possibility the Oscar winner fell asleep at the wheel.
Somewhat bizarrely, it's the fourth high-profile incident to have befallen the cast and crew of The Dark Knight.
'There is a sinister cloud over the film,' a source told the Sun. 'They are calling it “The Curse of Batman.”'
As well as Freeman's car crash, there's Christian Bale's arrest for assault, the on-set death of effects technician Conway Wickliffe and, of course, the death of Heath Ledger.
Reports state that Freeman has suffered a broken arm and shoulder and is in a 'serious but stable' condition after being cut out of the wreckage.
'The doors were jammed from the rolling and flipping,' said patrol sergeant Ben Williams. 'We had to break them to extract him.'
The actor was said to be in good spirits after the incident which happened on the Mississippi Highway on Sunday night. When people tried to take his photograph, he reportedly joked 'no freebies, no freebies.'
We wish him a speedy recovery.
