Get ready for, er, Frequent Flyer – The Movie.
Stop yawning at the back. Yes, the subject matter doesn’t sound like the liveliest film ever made, but it gets better.
For example, it looks likely to star George Clooney, and he’s been a pretty good judge of scripts of late.
And it’s also likely to be directed – and adapted – by Juno helmer Jason Reitman.
The film in question is Up in the Air, and sees Clooney playing a corporate downsizer who becomes hooked on collecting air miles.
If that film project doesn’t float your boat then how about Facebook – The Movie?
The good news is that the Facebook picture is about the creation of the site rather than 90 minutes of trying to ignore the friends who insist on throwing sheep at you.
The better news is that it’s to be written by Aaron ‘The West Wing’ Sorkin – even if he feels the least likely person to be penning this script.
‘I figured a good first step in my preparation would be finding out what Facebook is,’ he announced in his statement on – yep, you guessed it, Facebook, ‘so I've started this page.
‘Actually,’ he added, ‘it was started by my researcher, Ian Reichbach, because my grandmother has more Internet savvy than I do and she's been dead for 33 years.’
Air Miles and Facebook. Is it us or is Hollywood running out of ideas?
