Bale nearly on bail

Police after his side of the story

Christian Bale attended the glittering London premiere of the new Batman flick, The Dark Knight with the police on his tail.

The 34-year-old is due to be questioned by cops over accusations of assault made by his own mother and sister.

The Sun claims the two woman, mum Jenny, 61 and sister Sharon 40, claimed to Hampshire police after an alleged incident in the posh Dorchester Hotel in Park Lane, London, where the star is staying.

The paper claims he is alleged to have ‘lashed out’ on Sunday night.

The complaint was passed to the Metropolitan Police, who allowed the star to attend the premiere and will seek to question him today.

A police source said: ‘Mr Bale will be contacted at the earliest opportunity and be asked to provide an account of anything that happened.’

The Sun are also trying to knit together a big film conspiracy theory attached to the movie. Most famously, co-star Heath Ledger died of an accidental drugs overdose while less well known is a special-effects technician was killed in a stunt car accident.

This latest incident seems hardly in the same league, though.
