George Clooney and Brad Pitt will be showcasing their new movie Burn After Reading, guaranteed to be the highlight of the opening day of the Venice Film Festival.
Following the success of Oscar winning Coen brother’s flick ‘No Country for Old Men’, Pitt plays a gym worker who tries to flog a disc that holds the memoirs of a sacked CIA analyst.
Running till the 6th September, the Festival is 65 years old and includes a comeback for Kim Basinger playing alongside Charlize Theron in the Burning Plain.
Other highlights will include; the Iraqi war drama The Hurt Locker, starring Ralph Fiennes and Guy Pearce; Mickey Rourke in The Wrestler; and Anne Hathaway and Debra Winger in Jonathan Demme’s Rachel Get Married.
Maybe another excuse for the A listers to strut their stuff but Venice has a habit of showcasing some pretty good potential Oscar winning performances.
Well, that’s what the press release said.
