You've bought the album. You've seen the tour. Now buy the shirt.
Or, if you're a Coldplay fan catching the early US dates, don't.
Because you can't.
According to the Sun, the band – still at number one in the UK Album Charts with Viva La Vida – decided that the merchandise stand wasn't up to scratch.
So they binned it.
'We were in the dressing room in LA looking at some of the stuff,' explained Chris 'Perfectionist' Martin, ' and much of it, especially some of the T-shirts, looked terrible.
'We put so much work into our music. That same quality control has to extend to stuff being sold at our shows and we made that clear. It has to be a no crap zone.'
Merchandise is a major revenue-generator on tour so , unil the shirts and badges and stuff can be replaced, the band are losing money.
Not that we imagine Chris is fussed. Even if his bank balance is a bit low, he can still go home to Gwyneth Paltrow.
Or, like the rest of the band, curl up on the bus and watch Neighbours, according to bassist Guy Berryman.
Yep. Chris wins.
