Iron Man has won the plaudits, resurrected the career of Robert Downey Jnr and now raked in nearly $100m in three opening days in North America.
Not bad and hardly surprising to reveal Downey has agreed to sign on for a sequel to the comic book adaptation.
But we need to be patient and wait until 2010 before we get to see the next installment.
There's no sign of the comic-book and retro programme adaptation trend slowing with reports Thor, Captain America and The Avengers all getting a modern makeover.
But good old strong acting still wins the day. Just think about George Clooney's Batman. But only if we must.
