Jake and Reese to marry?

Are Jake Gyllenhaal and Reese Witherspoon about to tie the knot?

That's the rumour circulating today. Indeed, the rumours even include a date: December 19. Or close to it.

The star of Brokeback Mountain – and you can insert your own 'down on one knee' gag here – is apparently planning to marry Reese on or around his brithday, after he's finished shooting Prince of Persia in Morocco.

'Jake is telling everyone they are getting married at Christmas,' a source is reported as saying. 'He told me he had proposed several times but she kept telling him she wanted to give their relationship more time.

'When he asked her again a couple of weeks ago, she finally said yes.'

The couple have been together since 2006 when they met on the set of Rendition and are, at least, doing better than Sienna Miller.

Just a couple of weeks ago, she was seen frolicking with her new beau, actor Balthazar Getty.

Now we hear the married heir to the £2.5billion Getty oil fortune is trying to patch things up with his wife.

According to some reports, Getty told Sienna that he was going back to work and to see his four kids but is allegedly hoping to get back with his wife of eight years Rosetta.

And Rosetta is apparently willing to forgive and forget. Sienna is said to be heartbroken but may have a greater problem on her hands. Her fame-by-dating status – Jude Law, Rhys Ifans, Getty – has earned her the nickname Serial Miller in the gossip columns.
