Lily friend kidnap ordeal

Lily Allen. Is she Britain’s Unluckiest Woman?

If you lived in Midsomer, there must come a point when you think ‘hmm, let’s move.’

Likewise, there must be a point where the friends of Murder She Wrote’s Jessica Fletcher decide to stop accepting her invitations.

‘We’d love to come, Jess, but it’s just too risky.’

And now Lily Allen seems to have a similar whiff about her.

The chavtastic one has had more than her fair share of bad luck over the last year or two, even down to having her bull terrier kidnapped.

And now it’s spreading to her friends.

‘My friend Charlie was kidnapped a few weeks ago,’ she revealed yesterday, ‘and was kept in a car boot for six days without any food or anything.’

‘It was really scary’ she added.

Well we doubt it was a barrel of laughs – or even a bucket of monkeys – for Charlie.

Lily, in Covent Garden last night to co-host the GQ Men of the Year Awards alongside Sir Elton John, was very grateful to the police.

‘Thank you to the Met for getting my friend back. From what I hear the police did a fantastic job.’

As for the awards themselves, they were the usual mix of the justified – Gavin & Stacey creator James Corden getting the Breakthrough award, The Mighty Boosh getting the Comedy one, Mark Ronson taking home the Maverick prize – and the complete mysteries. Steve Coogan getting Best Actor? Er… for what?

Turning up, we suspect.
