You go girl. Happier times ahead for Lindsay

Lindsay Lohan looks to be well and truly out of the closet when it comes to Samantha Ronson.

However, according to the News of the World, Lindsay's previous lesbian lover didn't receive the same degree of openness.

Brunette Courtenay Semel was apparently Lindsay's first same sex squeeze but, fearing for her career, she kept her under cover activities under cover.

'We were very passionate until her fear of being found out drove us apart,' Courtenay told a pal.

'But then Samantha came on to the scene and I was dropped.'

Courtenay – can nobody spell Courtney anymore? - then apparently beeded a string of men in a bid to suppress her lesbian urges and hide them from the public.

'She met Lindsay in the summer of 2006 at a party in Malibu,' explained the pal.

'From the start Lindsay was very confused about her feelings for Courtenay so did more and more drugs to stifle the sexual attraction she was experiencing.

'But eventually she just gave in and at every party they’d kiss and touch each other in the corner. It’s a miracle nobody found out.'

According to the same source, Samantha AND Courtenay were regular visitors to Lindsay when she was in the Promises rehab facility.

'By now Lindsay was sending ‘I love you’ notes to Samantha and signing them 'Lindsay Ronson' but telling Courtenay she loved her too.'

She also allegedly moved in with Courtenany but 'Lindsay brought men back,' revealed the friend.

'Courtenay would throw fits of rage, writing her hundreds of angry e-mails from another room in the house.'

Eventually it all became too much and Courtenay out... and less than a week later, Samantha was back on the scene.

'Courtenay still can’t understand how Lindsay is now so open with Samantha,' said the mystery friend, 'Every time she sees a picture of them together it kills her.'

We have a similar mental image going on here, but so far it doesn't appear to be leading to violence.

Quite the opposite in fact.
