You may remember that we've mentioned the Road To V before.
If you don't, well: a) where were you?; and b) don't worry, here's a recap...
The Road To V is the unsigned bit of the V Festival. The winning two acts get to open the V Festival – which takes place in Stafford and Chelmsford on August 16th and 17th.
The quality is also pretty high: previous winners have included The Brightlights, The Bombay Bicycle Club and The Young Knives.
Around 2500 bands entered the competition but they've now been whittled down to 14 acts who will be judged by Dirty Pretty Things frontman Carl Barat, A&R man Sav Remzi, Mags Revell, the promoter of V Festival, NME's Mark Beaumont and Paul Samuels from Crown Music Management.
However, the public also get a say via the competition website www.roadtov.com
Of course, it's all very well reading about the acts / competition but it doesn't really mean a lot, does it? So, instead, why not have a listen?
Road To V have now uploaded assorted webisodes from their mammoth search, which give an insight into life on the road, how they've found the competition and how they would feel opening the V Festival.
To take a look at the webisodes, featuring new bands such as Married To The Sea, Imperial Leisure and Floors and Walls, to watch the first one, click on the player above.
