Leeds withstood some brutal Manly pressure to secure a record-equalling third World Club Challenge title with a 26-12 victory at Headingley.
The English champions may have thought following up their Grand Final win over St Helens with success over their Australian counterparts was a formality when a Kallum Watkins try and two from Ryan Hall gave them a 16-6 lead at the interval.
Manly, without a competitive fixture so far in 2012, roared back in the second half and looked good value for a surprise win when Daly Cherry-Evans followed up Brett Stewart's first-half score. They were unable to turn their pressure into points, though, and Ben Jones-Bishop killed them off with five minutes left, with Carl Ablett adding a flattering gloss to the result.
