Supersub Cesc Fabregas was at it again last night.
Having previously scored the decisive penalty to put Spain in the semi-finals of Euro 2008, he went one step further – and got them through to the final.
After coming on for the injured Villa, Fabregas created two goals as Spain crushed Russia 3-0. They now face Germany in Sunday's final, their first appearance in the last stage since 1984.
Remarkably, Spain go into that game with an unbeaten run of 21 games.
Chances that Fabregas will be in the starting line-up? Pretty darn good, we'd say.
Meanwhile, on the domestic football front, Liverpool are said to be making a bid for Middlesbrough’s Stewart Downing.
The surprisingly popular left winger was a target for Spurs last season and now Rafa Benitez has decided that Downing's the man to replace Harry Kewell.
Benitez is expected to offer around £10m for the England international however Boro boss Gareth Southgate doesn't want to sell.
Oh, and in case you're wondering, Ronaldo still hasn't gone.
But he probably will.
