Chelsea fans. Enjoy the Champions League Final. Not only is it your last shot at glory this season, it's probably the last time you'll see Didier Drogba in a Chelsea shirt.
Drogba – whose middle name clearly isn't 'Subtlety' – reveals in his autobiography that he met AC Milan legend Paolo Maldini and officials last year and virtually dared them to buy him.
'All footballers dream of signing for AC Milan,' said Didier. 'I explained to Paolo Maldini that Milan is a club I would love to join.'
Didier just happened to fly to Milan on a private jet and just happened to bump into Milan’s vice-president Adriano Galliani.
Galliani reportedly asked: 'When would you like to play for Milan?’ And Didier just happened to reply: 'Whenever you want, it’s all up to you - get the money ready and go see Chelsea.'
The Times is already speculating on who Chelsea will sign as a replacement. Mario Gómez, of VfB Stuttgart, is apparently target number one, while Avram 'Bulldog' Grant is said to want Dimitar Berbatov.
Which makes Grant the same as Alex Ferguson and pretty much every other manager in the Champions League.
There is some good news for Spurs fans though. Yes, you might be losing your best player but, according to the Sun, Juande Ramos is lining up a £15m bid for David Bentley.
The former Arsenal star is currently refusing to agree new terms with Blackburn, while Spurs can offer UEFA Cup football. Robbie Keane is hopeful that Bentley will join – alongside lots of better players which, frankly, they need.
'Next year we’ll see a different Tottenham,' said the somersaulting striker. 'The manager will have had the players from the very start - I’m sure he’ll bring his own players in and it will be his sort of team.'
From a neutral point of view, we just want to see somebody new in the top four...
