Drogba: Injury woe
drogba didier

Chelsea stumbled in the Champions League as they fired blanks in a 0-0 draw against lowly Romanian side CFR Cluj.

The horror show in Transylvania went from bad to worse  after Didier Drogba was carried off with a knee injury and could face a lengthy spell on the sidelines if scans confirm ligament damage.

It’s been a season of injury hell for the Blues with Michael Essien out with a long term injury and Joe Cole, Ashley Cole, Deco and Ricardo Carvalho carrying knocks.

Luis Felipe Scolari will be hoping the scan results will bring good news as Chelsea have a long tough season ahead as last night’s X-rated performance in vampire country will testify.

It was better news in Europe for Liverpool who impressed at Anfield with a 3-1 victory over PSV Eindhoven.

Steven Gerard scored his 100th goal in a Reds shirt to seal triumph for Rafa Benitez’ resurgent side.

The industrious Dutch winger Dirk Kuyt opened the scoring after four minutes and the Kop was treated to Robbie Keane’s first goal for Liverpool half an hour later.

PSV scored a consolation after Ger’s ton, Robbie Keane has a long way to go before he can get anywhere near Gerrard’s total.

‘I've got a monkey off my back,’ Keane said.

‘It's been a few games.

‘It's always nice to get the first goal but I wasn't too worried, it was just people talking. I hope I score a lot more for this club.’

Yes Robbie and we’re sure we’ll be treated to more of your silly sub-territorial army forward roll, finger-gun celebration nonsense too.
