Fab: I want English men

We don't like to be the ones that said we told you so but...
Fabio Capello

We've been saying it for ages and now it looks like it's official. The lack of English players in the Premier League is becoming a problem.

And who agrees with us? England boss Fabio Capello.

He reckons his working conditions are the worst working conditions of any national coach in Europe.

'I'm worse off than [new Italian coach Marcello] Lippi, than everyone.

'I have Welsh players, Scottish, Irish. In the Premier League only 35% of the players are English. In Italy it's about 72% [Italians].'

Blimey. Making excuses already Fab? You've only been in the role for three months or so.

He's also hoping to hold onto the few players he's got access too, such as Frank Lampard.

'As England coach I would prefer it if Lampard remained in England. He would have less travelling to do that way.'

Still, at least Fab's got hopes for the 2010 World Cup. As do we.

'I will complete my contract with England but my time in the dugout will end with my England experience,' Capello revealed. 'However, I would like to end my career having made an impact at a World Cup.'

Is that proper impact such as winning it? Or relative impact and going one better than McClaren and just qualifying?
