David Beckham has spoken out in admiration of new coach Fabio Capello.
Beckham who is looking to earn his 100th cap against France on Wednesday fell foul of Capello’s selection policy for the Italian’s first game in charge against Switzerland.
The former England captain is now back in the frame with his sights set on gaining and surpassing the century, Becks is also acutely aware that the high demands of Fab could see him out of the picture if he is not performing.
‘He's started off well. The regime has totally changed round and players have recognised that,’ said Beckham.
‘If you're not playing well and don't respond, you won't be in the team. We've a manager with strong beliefs.’
Becks famously fell out with Capello at Real Madrid when the hard-nosed Italian ditched him from the squad after LA Galaxy tabled their megabucks deal to bring brand Beckham to the USA.
Beckham managed to knuckle down and impress Fab helping Madrid land La Liga and was reunited for the first time since their Madrid love/hate relationship on Monday.
‘We shook hands and it was nice to see him because the last time was when we were celebrating on the field at the Bernabeu," said Beckham.
‘He is, without doubt, the right man for the England job.
‘He's got his own ways, he knows how to get teams playing. That's what our country needs. We need to get the confidence of the nation back.’
Looks like we’re Beck in business then Dave?
