Lewis nearly there

Hamilton's mum is called Linda. But she wasn't in Terminator. So there

One race to go and still everything to drive for. Unless, of course, Lewis Hamilton can’t finish in the top five in Brazil.

Yes, indeed, with just one Grand Prix to go, the driver's championship is still undecided.

We'd hint that it’s all a bit of a fix but clearly that sort of thing doesn’t happen in any organised sport...

After a rattling start to the season, Lewis Hamilton has been unable to claim his crown. However he's now seven points clear of Felipe Massa which means that he’s only got to finish fifth in the final race to take the big F1 prize.

After recent accusations that Hamilton is a dangerous driver he was in conservative form during the weekend's Chinese Grand Prix.

After securing pole position yet again, Hamilton roared away from second-on-the-grid Kimi Raikkonen and arch rival Massa, taking a 1.1 second lead within the first lap.

That extended to 3.5 seconds within six laps – or 6.1 seconds ahead of Massa – and four seconds by Lap 10.

And after 24 laps the driver's championship looked to be settled with Hamilton way in front and Massa slipping to fourth, and over 15 seconds behind.

However, while Massa was unable to close the gap on Hamilton, he did claw his way up to second to ensure that the advertising revenues for the Brazilian Grand Prix will be vast.

Sorry. We meant to say: 'to ensure that the hugely exciting Drivers Championship will only be settled on the last day of the season.' Obviously.
