Sometimes we accidentally pour bleach on our clothes. This leaves unpleasant visible stains. But how to eliminate them effectively? This is what we invite you to discover in this article!
Bleach often leaves traces on our clothes after use. As a result, our clothes become so smudged that it is impossible to wear them. But before throwing them in the trash, you should know that nothing is lost yet! Here are some great tips to help you remove bleach stains.
Bleach stains on clothes: your first reaction
The moment you accidentally spill bleach on your clothes, you must immediately clean the stain to eliminate the impacts of the bleach. But how to do it? You will need ammonia or hydrogen peroxide for this. For wool, synthetic fabric, cotton and jeans, soak a piece of cloth in hydrogen peroxide or ammonia and wipe the stained area.
This operation will quickly neutralize the effects of the bleach. All that remains is to rinse the laundry before putting it in the washing machine. During this operation, be sure to wear protective gloves and a mask to avoid any dangerous contact with these products.
The Magical Effects of Liquid Detergent and White Vinegar
Liquid detergent is also your best bet for effectively removing bleach stains from laundry. To do this, mix one tablespoon of detergent with two glasses of water. Immerse a white cloth inside the resulting mixture and use it to wipe the bleach stain.
Leave the mixture to sit for 5 minutes before applying to the stained area, this time using a clean cloth soaked in cold water. Repeat the process until the stain disappears completely. Note that the clean cloth absorbs bleach and prevents the garment from getting stained again.
Finally, white vinegar is also ideal for removing bleach stains. However, mixing white vinegar with bleach produces a dangerous chemical reaction due to chlorine gas. Hence the need of wiping the stain with a clean cloth soaked in cold water to remove as much of the bleach trace as possible.
